Our History
For more than 26 years, Boys & Girls Club of Preston has played an important role in the communities of East Preston, Lake Echo, North Preston, Cherry Brook and surrounding areas. With an emphasis on child development, safety, nutrition & advancement - the Boys & Girls Club of Preston has been committed to the youth of this community for decades.
The Boys & Girls Club of Preston has served more than 6,000 youth since 1996. We work closely with our members on homework, personal development, activities, creativity, art, technology, diversity, nutrition, self-care and post-secondary education readiness.
Our club provides an after-school program, March Break program and Summer Day Camps; where children have a safe place to be when their parents are working. The Junior Leader program trains youth to learn the skills needed to be a leader and prepares them for future employment. Kids in the Kitchen is a program that gives children the basics of healthy cooking. To keep up to date with technology, we offer a computer club. We create a safe, supportive environment where youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life.
Most importantly, we have fun. We create an environment where children can be children and have fun while growing.
We've been serving the children and youth of this community for many years.
Over this time, we've seen and worked with thousands of youth.
At BGC Preston, all of our programs are designed around the BGC Model for Success, which guides Clubs across Canada in providing safe, supportive, and engaging environments for children and youth.
Our programs focus on building meaningful relationships, fostering personal growth, and connecting youth to their communities. Through physical activity, leadership opportunities, learning experiences, and family engagement, we help children and youth develop confidence, new skills, and a sense of belonging.
Every activity is grounded in research on child and youth development, ensuring that participants are supported emotionally, socially, and academically. By following the Model for Success, we aim to create programs where every child feels welcome, respected, and empowered to explore new opportunities, while families and communities stay connected and involved.
The After School program is one of our most popular & most attended programs.
Our Summer program is filled with trips, activities and fun for youth. Register Late April 2026.
We offer a nutritious breakfast, free of charge, in a supportive and positive environment for students of the school.
